Abstract

The character of the visual image, representing the frailty of existence in history and in daily life, distinguishes the Chilean poet Gonzalo Millán’s poetry. Similarly to the workings of a photographic or cinematographic camera, the visual quality achieved by Millán’s poetry offers a style that breaks with the canon and may be related to ‘still lifes’ –a kind of work of art that in western painting and in determine literary traditions reflects not only stillness and movement, but also object and interiority
